Charles Lynn Cox, 87, of Clarksdale and owner and operator of Cox Glass for 33 years, died Monday, April 21, 2020 at Baptist East in Memphis, Tenn. Graveside services are 2 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Memorial Gardens in Lyon with burial in the Memorial Gardens. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale is handling the arrangements.
Mr. Cox was an active member of Oakhurst Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge and Lions Club. He enjoyed flying for over 40 years.
Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Bobbie Irwin Cox of Clarksdale; son Michael (Deanna) Cox of Brazil, Miss; daughter Wendy Cox (Danny) Smith of Tunica; step sons Irwin (Malinda) Burton of Marion, Ark., Robert Baine of Clarksdale; sisters Mary Ella C. Cox Swindoll, Polly Ann Cox Horton, Thelma Jean Cox Babineaux; two grandchildren Tiffany Smith Moore, Catie Cox Clark; three great grandchildren; three step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by first wife Laverne King Cox; parents Vernon and Kitty Bennett Cox; sisters Nora Catherine Cox Bailey, Edna Jane Cox Mitchell.
