Betty Jo Burchfield, 69, a beautician, died May 13, 2020 at Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown in Germantown, Tenn. Graveside services are 11 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2020 at Magnolia Gardens in Charleston with burial in the Magnolia Gardens. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale is handling the arrangements.
Betty Jo was a fun person that was always the first to lend a hand to those in need. She took pride in being there for others and never expected anything in return. She enjoyed gardening and loved to share her flowers with others. Betty Jo loved her family dearly and her biggest blessings called her Nanaw.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years Carl Burchfield; sons Brandon Burchfield (Brittany) and Kevin Burchfield (Niki) of Batesville; mother Thelma Winters Meredith of Clarksdale; brother Henry "Butch" Meredith of Southaven; sisters Mary Meredith Winbush of Clarksdale and Deborah Strawn (Michael) of Memphis, Tenn.; grandchildren Kateylyn Dillard (Pate), Taylor Utz, McCarlie Burchfield, Denver Brown, Gracie Burchfield, Corey Burchfield (Amy), Jessica "Bree" Snyder (Blake), Courtney Burchfield, Amory McCullar, Shepherd Carlisle and great-grandchildren James Burchfield and Audrey Burchfield.
She was preceded in death by her father Earnest Meredith; brother Earnest "Buddy" Meredith, Jr. and sisters Brenda M. Ray and Sylvia Gale Seely.
