Richard Winston "Wimpy" Gilbert, 89, of Clarksdale, a retired Senior Vice President at United Southern, died May 20, 2020 at Northwest Mississippi Medical Center. Graveside services are 10 a.m. Saturday May 23, 2020 at Oakridge Cemetery in Clarksdale with burial in the Oakridge Cemetery. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale is handling the arrangements.
Wimpy served his country in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years Betty Pullen Gilbert; son Richard Winston Gilbert (DeAnn) of Madison; daughter Lisa Ann Wigington of Batesville; sisters Gloria Law of Houston, Texas and Naomi French of Columbus, Ga.; grandchildren Richard Winston "Rich" Gilbert (Samantha) of Oxford, Parker Reed Gilbert of Oxford, Dr. Anne Kristen Glaser (Jon) of Madison, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Wigington of Oxford and Mary Michael Wigington of Oxford and great-grandchild Rosalie Jo Glaser.
He was preceded in death by his parents John Luther and Rena Glen Gilbert.
