Albert Holman Williams, 76, born in Davenport on April 20, 1944, died Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was a Clarksdale resident and graduated from Coahoma Agricultural High School (“Aggie”). He received a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Tugaloo College. He received his Master’s in Education from Delta State University.
He was a retired educator - having worked many years in Greenville, Marks and Clarksdale. He was an avid community leader, serving as Administrator for Park Commission for 10 years (Clarksdale Public Swimming Pool), Election Commissioner and served on the Board of the Chamber of Commerce (Economic Development). Albert was also a faithful member of Haven United Methodist Church, where he served in numerous church activities; a member of the choir, President of Pastor Parish Relations and a church liturgist.
Survivors include the love of his life for, nearly three decades, Rosetta Howard of Clarksdale; three daughters, Heather Y. Tanner of Zachary, La., (son-in-law, Bryan Tanner), Staci Williams of Baltimore, Md., Traci Williams-Jenkins of Baltimore, Md. (son-in-law, Steve Jenkins); grandchildren Cameron Jenkins, Ky Jenkins and Saqarra Jenkins; sister La Fiesta A. Williams-Roland; nephew Oliver Jefferson Roland; nieces Robbie Roland Williams and Rorcia Karlyese Roland; first cousin Joan Ellis Simpson; and a host of friends and family that will forever cherish his memory.
Gravesite service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Heavenly Rest Cemetery at 119 Martin Luther King Blvd. Clarksdale, MS, 38614. Century Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
