William Benton Rico, age 27, of Rena Lara lost his life tragically on Saturday, May 30, 2020.
Benton was born in Clarksdale to William Warren Rico III of Rena Lara and Carri Celeste Rico Martindale of Beebe, Aek., and is survived by them both. Benton is also survived by his brother Edward Colton Rico, his sisters Dixie Grace Wilson and Emeree Rico, his maternal grandparents Gary and Barbara Greenwood of Fayetteville, Ark., and Dave and Dixie Withrow of Sulphur Springs, Texas.
Benton was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents William Warren Rico, Jr., and Ethel Ruth Sartin Rico.
Benton was a kindhearted loving young man. He loved his God, his country, his family, and friends.
His family was so important to him. He had a special relationship with his sister. He was her everything, her Bubba and now her guardian angel.
Benton’s mother, Carri, held an unbreakable bond with him - of great affection, unfailing forgiveness and the deep abiding love only a mother can know.
He enjoyed being with his dad and brother again spending time with them doing all the things guys do. They all shared their love of guns and the outdoors. He was so happy to be back home again in Mississippi living the life of a country boy.
His last day on this earth was spent with his brother, Colton, at the river and the smile on his face in pictures says it all.
Benton will be most remembered for his fun loving, compassionate heart, and his willingness to help others by giving to those in need. He would give anyone the shirt off his back or the last dollar in his pocket. His face and his smile will be missed but never forgotten.
A celebration of his life and memorial was at 11 a.m. Saturday June 6, 2020 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Clarksdale. Visitation was 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale.
