Thomas Winfred Moreland, 81, a retired Shop Foreman for Temperature Control, died June 25, 2020 at Northwest Mississippi Medical Center. Visitation is 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2020 at Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale. Graveside services are 4 p.m. Monday at Memorial Gardens in Lyon. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale is handling the arrangements.
Mr. Moreland was a practical joker with his co-workers at Temperature Control where he worked for 48 years. Baseball was his passion. He was an outdoorsman and avid gardener.
Survivors include his wife Linda Sewell Moreland; daughters Cynthia Hughes of Memphis, Tenn., and Catherine Morin (Jon) of Mauldin, S.C.; brother Kenneth Moreland of Pell City, Ala.; sister Mary Moreland Gurosky (Pete) of Bessmer, Ala.; grandchildren Hunter Taylor, Crystal Taylor, Jonathan Morin, Camille Morin and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles Sr. and Ethel Tucker Moreland; brothers Charles Moreland, Willard Moreland, Lewis Moreland, James Moreland and David Moreland; sisters Betty Long, Bobby Blair, Doris Whitt, Ruth Graham and grandson Jackson Morin.
