Charles H. Fowler, Sr, at the age of 90, left life on this earth and began his eternal life in heaven on January 4, 2024.
Charles was an electrical foreman for Brown & Root Construction for 20 years and traveled to many parts of the world on construction jobs. Up until the last week of his life, he could tell stories of all the jobs he worked on and all the experiences he had in various countries he traveled to during his career.
He had an undeniable love for music and almost every member of the family knows how to play musical instruments because of his tutelage. You may have seen him in Clarksdale sitting on the corner playing his guitar and/or harmonica. Another one of his passions was playing tennis. Every child and grandchild had to go to the tennis court and hit tennis balls with him. He was devoted father and grandfather and cherished every moment spent with family.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Shirley C. Fowler; his father Thomas S. Fowler; his mother Nellie B. Fowler; and his siblings Thomas H. Fowler, Keith Fowler, Betty F. Roberts, Genevive F. Grammar, Patricia F. Buckner; and his great grandson Christopher Harthcock.
Charles is survived by his sons Charles H. Fowler, Jr of Clarksdale, Miss., Steven W. Fowler (Kim) of Ridgeland, Miss., David A. Fowler of Bentonville, Ark., and Van R. Fowler (Phyllis) of Clarksdale; his grandchildren Toni F. Overby, Steven Fowler, Charles (Chip) Mohammed, Jon Charles Fowler, Mykul Gabriel Fowler, Raymon Anthony Fowler, Joshua D. Fowler and Mary Ashton Fowler; and 11 great grandchildren.
