“May the work I’ve done, the life I’ve lived, and the service I’ve given speak for me.”
We are saddened to announce the recent passing of Mrs. Vivian Virginia Moore Jones, a faithful member of Haven United Methodist Church in Clarksdale, MS.
Mrs. Jones was a strong, dedicated, Christian woman who worked in the church in several ministries over the years.
Mrs. Jones was a pillar in the community and also a dedicated educator for 40 years in the Coahoma County School District. She was an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Rust College International Alumni Club and the Social Service Club. Her smile was infectious, and she was many times quiet yet stern. She meant what she said, and she was good at giving instructions.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Mr. Willie James (W.J.) Jones; daughter, KaWanda Jones; son, Keith A. Jones (Tywanda); granddaughters Sarah E. Jones & Katherine N. Jones; stepson, Willie C. Jones and family; godson, Donald Green (Nelia); goddaughter Valerie M. Gladney (Rev. Jeffrey); nieces; nephews; cousins and friends.
Mrs. Jones loved life, and her family finds comfort in knowing she was “ready to go to Heaven”.
