Clarksdale Police are investigating a south Clarksdale burglary where a home was broken into and several appliances stolen.
Officers were called to the 500 block of Catalpa Street Wednesday morning after resident Appie Moore said she had been away for the night and when she returned home she found someone had kicked opened her front door.
Moore said she immediately called police.
Police reports said a bluetooth speaker, a clothes washer and dryer and a school tablet were reported stolen.
The case was turned over to Investigator L. Grimes.
Because of the size of the items stolen, authorities believe someone might have seen a vehicle or person responsible for the burglary and theft.
Clarksdale Assistant Chief Vince Ramirez has asked anyone with information about this incident to call the Clarksdale Police Department at 621-8156, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or simply dial 911. All calls remain anonymous and cash is paid to those providing information that leads to solving a crime.and had been away for the night.
Shots Fired
The Clarksdale Police Department has responded to the following reports of shots fired:
· 1400 block of Peachtree Street – nothing found
· Cheyenne and Maple Street- nothing found
Police are asking residents to call them immediately when they hear shots fired in their neighborhood, give a location of where the shot came from and police will respond to the scene and check for evidence.
