The Clarksdale Police Department has investigated a business burglary and has arrested a man on charges of commercial burglary.
An alarm call in the 800 block of South State Street at 11:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 26, brought officers to the scene where they found the front door glass broken to gain entry into the building.
The business had security camera and a video recorded the incident and allowed police to develop a suspect.
Officers later made contact with Kandrin Grace and he was arrested and charged with Commercial Burglary.
Commercial burglary is a serious crime and conviction usually results in jail time.
Anyone convicted of breaking and entering a business or commercial building after hours, with intent to commit a crime, shall be placed in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections for not less than three years nor more than 25 years.
The crime is enhanced if the alleged thief has a previous burglary conviction. Convictions traditionally require the culprit to pay for damages to the building and make restitution for anything taken.
