Clarksdale Police are once again looking for the person who shot into a home on Catalpa Street over the weekend.
Police were called to the 700 block of Catalpa Street on a report of shots fired on Sunday, but no injuries were reported.
Catalpa Street has apparently become a hotbed of crime and violence with several reports of shots fired over the past few months.
Police have responded to calls of shots fired on in the 100, 600 and 700 block of Catalpa over the past six months. Police responded twice to the 600 block on July 17, 2023.
Shooting into a home is typically a revenge tactic for gangs and Clarksdale has seen a number of these incidents in the community, including several where people were struck by bullets and on earlier this year where a 15-year-old was killed when a house was fired into on Choctaw Street. No arrest has been announced in that murder.
Anyone with information about these incidents or any crime in Clarksdale is asked to call the Clarksdale Police Department at 621-8154, or simply dial 911.All calls remain anonymous and cash is paid to those providing information that leads to solving a crime.
