Clarksdale Police are looking for information on the person who shot into a home in the 500 block of Spruce Street last week.
Police were told by the resident that they heard gunshots but didn’t call police until the Wednesday morning when they noticed their front door had been shot.
Reports did not list a possible motive for the shooting or if any evidence was collected.
Clarksdale saw several hours of gunshots on Monday night July 4th in the Spruce Street neighborhood with some of those being rapid fire.
As of Thursday, no charges or arrests have been reported for any of those events or the Spruce Street shooting.
Firing shots inside the city limits of Clarksdale is a misdemeanor but can be enhanced to a felony if the person shooting has a previous conviction for certain crime or the shots were premeditated with intent to cause hate, harm or fear.
Police are asking residents to call them immediately when they hear shots fired in their neighborhood, give a location of where the shot came from and police will respond to the scene and check for evidence.
Police seek info on two burglaries
The Clarksdale Police Department is asking the community for informamtion on two burglaries that occurred last week.
On Friday officers were called to the to 100 block of West Second about a burglary.
The complainant told police that while they were away from their home an unknown person or person broke in to the residence and stole a game console, shoes and a purse.
Police are also seeking information on a Saturday burglary.
In that incident officers were called to the 1500 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard about a break-in.
The complainant stated that while they were gone some unknown to them broke in to the residence and stole a 55-inch television and an Iphone.
Anyone convicted of breaking and entering a home or inner door of a dwelling whether armed with a deadly weapon or not, and even if at the time the dwelling house is not occupied, with intent to commit a crime, shall be placed in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections for not less than three years nor more than 25 years.
