Police repond to Pearson Street shooting

An altercation between neighbors in a north Clarksdale neighborhood was followed by gunshots in the middle of the night that has left one man critically injured and police looking into the incident.

The Clarksdale Police Department released the following information Monday morning.

Shots fired near Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith's home in Lincoln County

Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith was returning home from church when shots were fired near the U.S. Senator's home Sunday afternoon.

The Secret Service, Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and local law enforcement agencies are investigating the shooting that took place about 12:30 p.m. Sunday near the Senator's home in Lincoln County.
