The Clarksdale Police Department has released reports as of June 6 on the following crimes in the community as a public safety alert for neighborhoods.
Residents are urged to contact police if they see something suspicious in their neighborhood or have information that might solve a crime.
Anyone with details about the following crimes, or any felony in Clarksdale, is asked to contact the Clarksdale Police Department at 621-8156, or simply dial 911. All calls remain anonymous and cash is paid to those providing information that leads to solving a crime.
June 3-4, 2024
Shooting into Occupied Dwelling/Vehicle
• A residence and vehicle were fired into in the 500 block of Catalpa Street, no injuries were reported.
May 30-June 3
Aggravated Assault:
• A male subject was shot in the leg while in the 500 block of Lincoln Street. Injuries were not reported as life threatening.
• Two male subjects were shot while sitting in their vehicle in the 900 block of Cherry Street. Both were transported to Memphis for treatment.
Residential Burglary:
• A burglary was reported in the 1000 block of Barnes Street. Firearms and U.S. currency was reported stolen.
• A burglary was reported in the 700 block of School Street, a firearm was reported stolen.
Auto Burglary:
• An auto burglary was reported in the 600 block of Evelyn Street, a firearm was reported stolen.
Grand Larceny:
• A vehicle was reportedly stolen from a towing yard in the 2000 block of MLK Drive.
Arrests:
• Hershell Ross, (36 y/o) arrested for Grand Larceny, theft of a 4-wheeler.
• Kelvin Harrell, (27 y/o) arrested for Felony Fleeing after refusing to stop on an attempted traffic stop for no headlights.
• Roger Grace, (34 y/o) arrested for Arson.
• Jamarian Bruce, (19 y/o) arrested for Possession of Stolen Firearm.
• James Logan, (43 y/o) arrested for Possession of Stolen Firearm.
• Brandon Sims, (29 y/o) arrested for Felony Fleeing, Possession of Stolen Property/Vehicle.
Shots Fired:
• 500 block of Cherry Street
Recovered Stolen Vehicle:
• Officers recovered a stolen vehicle at an apartment complex. The vehicle was reported stolen from Memphis, TN.
May 29-30, 2024
Shooting into Occupied Dwelling:
• A shooting was reported in the 400 block of Andrews Street, no injuries were reported.
Shooting into Dwelling/Vehicles:
• A shooting was reported in the 300 block of Oakhurst Street.
• A shooting was reported in the 900 block of Stiles Street, a home and numerous vehicles were struck, no injuries reported.
Shots Fired:
• 400 block of Washington Street
• 40 block of Cherry Street
• 300 block of Chickasaw
• 600 block of Bolivar Street
Commercial Burglary:
• A burglary was reported in the 800 block of 6th Street, U.S. currency and cigarettes were reported stolen.
