JACKSON – It’s the first of the year and with a new group of lawmakers in the Mississippi Legislature and a new Speaker of the Mississippi House of Representatives.
Speaker Jason White announced his appointments on House Committee Chairs and Vice Chairs on Friday including those for Coahoma County Representatives Cedric Burnett and Orlando Paden.
Coahoma County’s Dist. 9 Representative Cedric Burnett was named chairman of the Interstate Cooperation committee. Burnett also serves as a member of the following committees: Banking and Financial Services, Energy, Gaming and Ways & Means.
Coahoma County Dist. 26 Representative Orlando Paden, was named vice chairman of the Housing committee. Paden also serves as a member of the following committees: Tourism, Transportation, Universities & Colleges and Ways & Means.
