The Clarksdale High School softball team’s season came to an end with a loss against Corinth in the first round of the playoffs, but the Lady Wildcats ended up with a 10-4 record and have something to build on for 2020.
The team will have four seniors to graduate in May and will bring back quite a bit of talent next year looking to build on the 2019 accomplishments.
“Our team is more like a family than anything — it’s a sisterhood. We uplift one another, pray together before and after every game, and we make sure to let one another know the impact we all have on the team,” said senior infielder, Princess McCray.
Head coach Westley Davis felt his team hd a good season in spite of falling to Corinth.
“Unfortunately we couldn’t pull the game out against Corinth, but our girls gave a great effort all year long. They have improved throughout the year, and I am looking forward to great things next season,” Davis said.
