The Clarksdale High School boys basketball team lost to the No. 1 team, Pontotoc, in round 2 of the playoffs, 44-43. A hostile crowd and controversial calls were considered by some to be the difference of the game with Pontotoc taking 24 free throws and CHS with 10.
Normally averaging about 60 points a game, CHS was able to hold Pontotoc to 44.
Despite the unfortunate end to the road to Jackson, Coach Hill brags on his team stating, “My guys played with pride Monday night – something I hadn’t seen from them in a long time.”

Ripley (18-19) will advance to the quarterfinals to face New Albany on Thursday at 7 p.m. The winner will play Moss Point on March 4 at 4 p.m.

“We lost the game at the free throw line,” says Head Coach Corney George.
The Tigers lost to Yazoo County in Round 2 of the playoffs 57-63. The team will be losing seniors Reshard Mccray, Nicarioys Johnson, Jacque Hopson and Daterrion Coley.
