BILOXI – Southern Miss didn't have many answers for Ole Miss' offense.

From what seemed like every angle on the court, the unbeaten Rebels knocked down eight first-half three-pointers with ease. It was an opposite outing for the Golden Eagles, whose poor early shooting led to an 89-72 loss at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.

BILOXI, Miss. (AP) — Matthew Murrell had a season-high 26 points and five assists, Jaylen Murray scored 21 points and unbeaten No. 25 Mississippi defeated Southern Miss 89-72 on Saturday at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Jimmy Bell Jr. and Cameron Matthews combined for 35 points and 29 rebounds to help Mississippi State cruise past Rutgers 70-60 on Saturday.

Mississippi State (10-2), which was ranked No. 21 before losing consecutive games to Georgia Tech and Southern, has won four straight.
