Man fined $1,000 for failing to provide sustenance for two horses

Local fire departments called to fight fire in railcars

Coahoma and Tallahatchie County firefighters battled a fire in crossties in four gondola railroad cars for almost nine hours Tuesday.

The cars were detached from the freight train and authorities were called when the fire was discovered as the train passed near Swan Lake at Sharkey Road.
