Mr. Britt Brown was born Oct. 1, 1949 and passed away in Greenwood on Feb. 10, 2022. He was 72.

Services were noon Sat. Feb. 19 at Century Funeral Home chapel. Burial followed at Good Hope Cemetery in Tallahatchie County. Visitation was 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at Century.

Vendors sought for Gateway to the Delta Fest in Charleston

Vendors are needed for the 10th annual Gateway to the Delta Festival to be held Saturday, Oct. 2, in Charleston.
The festival, hosted by the Charleston Arts Center, is seeking vendors who sell arts and crafts to the public. A few spots are still open for food vendors as well.

CCC fighting falling enrollment numbers over past five years

Enrollment has been on the decline in all five of Coahoma Community College’s counties for the past five years.
CCC president Dr. Valmadge Towner provided data showing the decline from the fall of 2016 to the fall of 2020 during the board meeting last week.
