Williams preparing to serve as District 26 Representative

Incoming District 26 State Rep. Otha Williams will be taking office in January with four main objectives.
Williams plans to focus on education, industry, safety and health. He discussed those issues as the guest speaker of the Clarksdale Rotary Club at Stone Pony on Tuesday.

Four Colts selected as MAIS All-Stars

Four Lee Academy football players were selected to compete in the MAIS Class 2A-3A Senior All-Star Game.
Brayden Antici, Jonathan Redwine, Adonnis Cannon and Payton Burton will all be playing in the game set for 3 p.m. Dec. 5 at Mississippi College in Clinton.

Two department heads were sworn in during the Clarksdale Board of Mayor and Commissioners meeting on Monday.
Vince Ramirez was sworn in as the police chief and Laketha Covington was sworn in as the city clerk.

Lee Academy falls in championship, 32-20

JACKSON—Lee Academy came within one quarter of winning the football program’s first state championship, but fell a little short down the stretch.
The Colts (8-4) lost to Centreville Academy 32-20 in the MAIS 2A Division I State Championship at Jackson Academy on Friday.
