The Dragonfly Sprint Triathlon held annually at Sardis Reservoir on the sandy white beach at Cypress Point on the lower lake returns for the 32nd year on Saturday, August 27 at 8 a.m.
For the first time in the event’s history, $150 cash awards will be presented to the fastest cyclist in each competition for men, women, relay men and relay female.
This year’s event is presented in memory of Cris Crisler, a lifetime runner, cyclist and triathlete, who participated in last year’s Dragonfly Tri for the first time.
Cris passed away immediately following the 2021 event. His wife, Elizabeth, along with family friends and supporters, will
attend the race and assist with the awards presentation.
The event begins at 8 a.m. on the sandy white beach at Cypress Point on the Lower Lake at Sardis Reservoir. The triathlon includes a 1/2 -mile swim with a sandy beach entrance and exit, an 18-mile bike
course through beautiful, flat pastoral country and a 4-mile run along portions of a shady woodland trail.
Sardis Lake is located approximately 50 miles south of Memphis, just off Highway 55 South between Como
and Batesville.
