Escaped Inmate Richard Patrick who walked away from work detail on May 12, 2022 has been located and apprehended by Tunica County Sheriff’s Deputies after an extensive search of a wooded area near Old Highway 61 and Tate.
The Tunica County Sheriff's Department announced the capture at 4:51 p.m. Saturday.
A resident of the Hollywood Community notified law enforcement after he observed a white male fitting the description of Richard Patrick shortly after 1:00 pm walking into the wooded area. Hollywood is about four miles north of Tunica just off Highway 61.

An inmate with the Tunica County Sheriff’s Department left a work detail in Tunica Thursday afternoon and authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating him.
Richard Patrick, 52, is described at a while male, approximately 5-foot, 10-inches tall and weighing about 152-pounds.
He was last seen working at the Paul Battle Arena in Tunica and apparently walked off the work detail. It is not known if he had assistance in his escape. He was discovered missing at about 2:42 p.m.
Patrick was being held by the Tunica County Sheriff’s Department on a $5,000 bond on the charge of Taking a Motor Vehicle. Escape from a jail or prison carries an automatic 5-year extension to most incarcerations.
