On Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at approximately 1:02 a.m., the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call that shots had been fired into a residence located on Cotton Street in Tunica.
Upon arrival deputies made contact with the homeowner who said an individual shot into their residence.
Through the initial investigation, Martrevious Sanders, 32, of Tunica was developed as a suspect.
A warrant was issued for Sanders’ arrest and Sanders later turned himself in to authorities at the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office.
Sanders is being held without bond and has been charged with:
• Attempted Murder
• Conspiracy to Commit a Crime
• Shooting into a Dwel-ling
• Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm within a Populated Area
An arrest warrant has also been issued for John Doe I in relation to this crime.
This investigation is active and ongoing.
Home shot, man arrested
On Monday, June 10, 2024, at approximately 3:55 a.m., the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call stating shots had been fired into a residence on Sears Avenue in Tunica.
Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the homeowners who stated while they were sleeping, an unknown subject fired shots into their residence.
Through investigation, Tyshun Singleton, 18, of Tunica, was developed as a suspect.
A warrant was issued for Singleton and he turned himself into authorities at the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office.
Singleton is being held at Tunica County Jail without bond. He has been charged with the following in reference to this incident:
• Shooting Into a Dwelling
• Attempted Murder (3 counts)
• Conspiracy to Commit a Crime
• Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm within a Populated Area
Arrest warrants have been issued for John Doe I and John Doe II in relation to this crime.
Shooting leads to drug bust
An investigation into a shooting incident on Monday, June 17, in the area of Tate Avenue near Mitchell Cove in Tunica, has resulted in the arrest of two people.
A search warrant was issued for the Anderson residence in relation to this shooting and a search recovered marijuana, along with distribution paraphernalia such as a scale and plastic bags. Once the narcotics were seized, deputies noted that an estimated four pounds of marijuana was seized during this search.
The following charges have been filed against both Jakyland Anderson and Jordan Anderson in relation to this seizure:
•Possession of Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell/Distribute
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
