The Tunica County Sheriff’s Department has arrrested two people in connection to the shooting of a man last week.
Korea T. McKay and Jefferey Pickett have been arrested and charged with murder by the Tunica County Sheriff's Department following the shooting death of Davao Love Thomas.
The Sheriff’s Department said the shooting occurred at approximately 2:57 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 18, when they got a 911 call from a man saying he just saw a man shot in the 1000 block of Kirby Estates.
Deputies dispatched to the scene found a black male victim with multiple gunshot wounds to the body.
The Tunica County Coroner pronounced Thomas, of Crawford, dead at the scene.
“According to witnesses on scene, Korea T. McKay of Tunica County, MS was seen shooting Davao Thomas and fleeing the scene in (a brown pickup truck) bearing tag number TN1 1399,” the Tunica County Sheriff’s Department said in a press release. “A second person of interest identified as Jefferey Pickett, of Tunica, MS was also seen in the passenger seat of the brown pickup truck driven by Korea McKay.”
The sheriff’s department said anyone with information about this homicide should contact authorities immediately.
“If anyone is caught with Korea McKay in their home or vehicle, that individual will be charged with aiding and abetting,” the sheriff’s department said. “We are urging the community to please come forward if you have any information in reference to this incident.”
This incident remains under investigation.
