On Thursday, December 7, 2023, Tunica County Sheriff's Office received an alert from the Batesville Police Department in reference to a murder suspect that had occurred that, Dec. 7, in Batesville.
Tunica County Sheriff K.C. Hamp said they were glad to help and works diligently with area authorities anytime they requested assistance and found the suspect that day.
The Be On the Look Out (BOLO) was issued for 19-year-old Jamari Tyrice Barnes, of Tunica.
TCSO deputies made contact via phone with Barnes regarding a warrant for his arrest. Barnes met deputies in Tunica County.
Barnes was taken into custody without incident at 10:55 p.m., and was transported to the Tunica County Jail. Batesville Police Department was notified and this investigation is being handled by the Batesville Police Department.
