The Clarksdale Police Department is currently investigating a homicide that occurred earlier this week.
At approximately 2:00 p.m. on March 3, 2026, deputies with the Coahoma County Sheriff’s Department reported hearing several gunshots in the area of the 700 block of Garfield Street. Officers with the Clarksdale Police Department responded to the location and discovered a male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim has been identified as 38-year-old Joe Willie Henley.
Henley was transported to Northwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
At this time, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
