COLDWATER – Wayne Douglas Hodge, Sr., 95, died February 18, 2023, at Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southaven. Visitation was 1 to 2 p.m., Thursday Feb. 23, at Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Thursday at Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale, with burial in the Marks Cemetery in Marks.
Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale is handling the arrangements.
Mr. Hodge was a Grandmaster three times in the Clarksdale Masonic Lodge and a member of Clarksdale Shriners. He was a Baptist. He was a board member of Moon Lake Water Association. He served in the United States Army from 1945 - 1946. Upon returning home he owned/operated A & N Refrigeration and Electric for 30 years. He then had a 20 year career at Wonder Bread as an electrical engineer, where he eventually retired.
Survivors include his son Wayne Hodge (Toni) of Clarksdale; daughters Theresa Ashcraft (Darrell) of Coldwater and Fran Cassidy (Tom) of Moon Lake; grandchildren Travis Ashcraft, Tracy Ashcraft, Chris Cassidy, Chase Hodge, and Madison Hodge; and great grandchildren Anna Wallace, Johnathan Ashcraft, Gage Ashcraft and Zachery Ashcraft.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dene Wells Warren Hodge; parents Oliver and Addie Pearl Parham Hodge; brother Autrey Hodge and sisters Dale Cole, Ora Fizaculie, Nora Lusk, and Jimmy White.
