Firefighter Charles Lane was recognized as the City of Clarksdale's Employee of the Month for the month of April during the board of mayor and commissioners meeting held Monday, April 22 at City Hall.
Lane, center, accepted the award from Clarksdale Fire Chief Rocky Nabors, left, while Tarra Slack, the city's personnel director, looks on.
Lane was recognized for exemplary performance, superior accomplishment, community involvement, consistent professionalism, effective leadership, individual initiative, dependability, innovative solutions, and teaching, training and mentoring new employees.
“Charles’ consistent professionalism has helped move this department to new heights," Nabors said. "His effective leadership soars throughout the department, always taking the lead, on the scene and off the scene. He has helped save the department and the city thousands of dollars on new construction projects that have been taking place at all three stations.”
Later in Monday's meeting, Lane was promoted from the position of fire captain to assistant fire chief.
