A man has been shot and the Clarksdale Police Department is investigating it as an armed robbery.
It was reported about 7 p.m. Wednesday. Nov. 11, in the 600 block of Hwy. 322.
Police responded to the scene and found Andrew Alexander with a gunshot to the left arm and right leg.
Alexander told police he was walking back in the building when he was approached by two male subjects wearing masks who demanded money. Police reports said a struggle began with one of the robbers and the other man shot Alexander. At that point one of the robbers went into Alexander’s pocket and took money from him.
The case has been assigned to Investigator G. Johnson
Commercial Burglary
Over the weekend a break-in was reported in the 600 Block Evelyn Ave.
Police said entry to the building was gained by breaking a locked front door and once inside, money was taken from the cash register. Nothing else was reported missing
Auto Burglary
Police are investigating the theft of two weapons from a vehicle in the 900 block of S. State Street.
Police were told it is not known how entry was gained since there was no sign of force entry. Police said the complainant waited over three weeks to report this theft because he wanted to retrieve receipts from the place where he purchased the weapons.
Burglary
Police responded to a home burglary in the 200 block of School Street over the weekend.
The victim told police someone forced the front door and stole a 70 inch LG TV, 55-inch Emerson TV, clothes and jewelry.
Burglary
Police responded to the 1600 block of Reno Street Nov. 10, in reference to a residential burglary.
The victim, John Duckworth Jr., told police he returned from being out of town working and found two handguns, two watched and two diamond rings missing. He said entry was gained through a back window.
Grand Larceny
On Nov. 10 at 5:11 p.m. police were called to the 100 block of School Street in reference to a grand larceny.
Martavious Stokes told police someone took his black 1997 Chevrolet Silverado Truck from his back yard.
Auto Burglary
Police responded to the 400 block of Mooney Street Wednesday morning Nov. 11 after Damion Blue reported someone has broken into his vehicle and stolen a handgun and money by prying open the window.
Shots fired calls
Police were called to the 300 block of Elm Street and a search of the area found nothing.
A shots-fired call was reported in the 1000 block of Russwin St. Police checked the area and nothing was found.
