CLARKSDALE - Martha Jean Manus, 60, a homemaker, died Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo.
Visitation is Wednesday, April 6, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale. Funeral services are 3 p.m. Wednesday, at Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale with burial in the Memorial Garden Cemetery, Lyon. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale is handling the arrangements.
Martha's hobbies included spending time with her cats, working puzzle books, cooking for the neighbors and reading her Bible.
Martha married Alan Manus June 16, 1977. She was 16 and he was 18. They were married 30 years before his death on April 27, 2008. They had two daughters Lisa Michelle Manus born Aug. 22, 1978, and Savannah Rose Manus born on Feb. 27, 1985 and passed away Feb. 13, 1997.
Survivors include her parents Vernon and Joann Ransom Sandifer of Drew; a daughter Lisa (Brian) Burchfield of Clarksdale; brothers Timbo (Laquita) Sandifer of Cleveland, Jerry (Debbie) Sandifer of Cleveland, and Stevie Sandifer of Drew; sisters Betty (Jimmy) Hamilton of Alabama, Helen (Jeff) Yarbough of Alabama; grandchildren Brianna and Cheyanne Burchfield, Bubba (April) Burchfield; special friends Amy Knight Strider, Tonja Stone; special aunt Linda Black; cats Sunshine and Kitty Coo.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alan Manus; daughter Savannah Manus.
