The nominees for the Ronald ‘Hoss’ Bennett football award have been announced. Each year, local high school football coaches have the opportunity to nominate three seniors on their team for the award. The winners are judged on athletics, academics, school spirit and community involvement. The Clarksdale Exchange Club oversees the award. The nominees were invited for a lunch at Stone Pony to go over the process. Pictured from left are Zechariah Smith of Coahoma County High School, Calvin Hall of CCHS, Kendarious Sims of CCHS, Bram Harris of Lee Academy, and Brayden Antici of Lee Academy. Not pictured are Payton Burton of Lee Academy, Desmond Ball of Clarksdale High School, Rhymes Chess of CHS and Elijah Crockett of CHS. The awards banquet is expected to be in March.
