A 51-year-old Coahoma County man was arrested Tuesday, Jan. 15 and charged with four burglaries of three Clarksdale businesses this month.
Willie James, also known as Chip, was arrested by Clarksdale Police Department detectives and deputies with the Coahoma County Sheriff’s Office at James’ residence at 156 Chuck Pollard Road around 7:10 p.m.
Police believe James played a part in four commercial burglaries this month. They are:
* Jan. 2 at Tiger Mart at 529 N. State St.;
* Jan. 13 at J’s Grocery, 107 Madison Ave.;
* Jan. 13 at Tiger Mart at 529 N. State St.;
* and Jan. 14 at Fred’s at 236 Desoto Ave.
James was charged with four counts of commercial burglary and one count of uttering forgery for cashing a check taken from a business in Clarksdale.
He was taken to the Coahoma County Jail where he was awaiting his initial appearance in Clarksdale Municipal Court on Thursday, Jan. 17.
