The city of Clarksdale is inviting the public to come out and fall in love with the city of Clarksdale and its employees during an event scheduled for Valentine’s Day.
The city will be hosting a free barbecue lunch at noon Thursday at the Clarksdale Civic Auditorium Annex at 506 E. Second St.
The public is encouraged to come out and meet the people who work for the various city departments.
“This is an opportunity to talk with city officials and shown an appreciation for city employees,” said Clarksdale Mayor Chuck Espy.
Tarra Slack, the city of Clarksdale’s personnel director, said the event will be “celebrating the good work of city employees and we invite the public to come meet the city employees.”
Members of the Clarksdale Fire Department will be doing the cooking.
