Street paving season in Clarksdale

The city has wrapped up its summer paving projects this week with crews putting down a new ribbon of asphalt on Barnes Avenue behind W.A. Higgins Middle School.
Those who did not get their street resurfaced this summer will now have to wait for a second round of paving next year.

County eyes $1.2 million decline in tax revenue

Coahoma County got estimated tax revenue number this week and they were down.
Projected assessed values this year are expected to total $208 million compared to $219 in assessed values in 2021.

Clarksdale Reports another weekend homicide

A Friday afternoon stabbing in Clarksdale has killed a man and prompted police to arrest a woman for murder.

Police were called to the 600 block of Oakhurst Street at 3:28 p.m. Friday and found a 31-year-old black male with a stab wound to the chest.
