We’ve received reports of scammers calling people and pretending to be from the Sheriff’s Office. These callers may try to intimidate you by saying you have a warrant, missed jury duty, or owe fines — and then demand money or personal information over the phone. This is not legitimate.
Law enforcement will never call you and demand payment over the phone.
They will never ask for money via prepaid cards, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or payment apps.
They will never threaten arrest if you don’t pay immediately by phone.
If you receive one of these calls — hang up immediately.
Do not give out personal info like Social Security numbers, bank numbers, or credit card details, or confirm any personal details the caller provides.
To verify anything, call the sheriff’s office directly at 662-624-3085— not a number the caller gives you.
