The home of Betty Hicks at 324 Jefferson Avenue was the recipient of the Clarksdale Yard of the Month for August. Hicks has a variety of flowers blooming in her yard year-round and large crepe myrtle trees that give both shade and color to the property. Hicks is shown with her faithful dog Brownie.

He was born March 2, 1933 to Willie Philpot Hannah and James Ervin Hannah in Mattson, he served in the Airforce and was stationed in El Paso, Texas, when he married his childhood sweetheart, Flossie Youngblood. It would have been their 66th wedding anniversary Sept. 4.
