University of Mississippi cornerback Patrick Broomfield (27), a 2024 Clarksdale High School graduate, is two games away from a BCS National Championship. Broomfield and the Rebels defeated Georgia in the Sugar Bowl, 39-34, on New Year’s Day. In bottom photo, Broomfield holds the Sugar Bowl Classic trophy. The Rebels play Miami in the semifinals at 6:30 p.m. tonight at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.
