For the first time in a long time, the Red Panthers didn’t place first in an event at the State meet. However, they gave their best effort making their best times and distances of the year. Coahoma County High School brought home two third place and three fourth place finishes and are confident in their abilities to compete in next year’s state track meet and another chance at showcasing their skills.
“I had a lot of first-timers and it was a great experience to have them see what it’s like to compete on that level and to have an idea of what to look forward to in the future. Those kids worked hard all season and at State as well, and I couldn’t be more proud of the effort each of them gave,” said coach Derrick Moore.
