Clarksdale and Coahoma Early College high schools will play one another for the first time in the history of the two local schools Friday night.
The matchup is set for 7 p.m. at Coahoma Community College.
Both teams played in jamboree games at CCC last week and won.
The Wildcats defeated Southaven, while the Tigers beat West Bolivar.
Clarksdale is coming off of a 7-5 season and a home playoff victory.
Coahoma Early College had four wins last season, but none of them were in district play. They just missed the postseason.
Henry Johnson is headed into his seventh season as the Wildcats coach, while Jeremiah Brassell is haded into his fourth season as the Tigers coach.
Clarksdale is a Region 3-4A school, while Coahoma Early College is a Region 3-2A school.
All three local public schools will be playing one another this season.
Coahoma Early College High School is at Coahoma County on Thursday, Sept. 12.
Clarksdale High School and Coahoma County High School play one another Sept. 6 at Crumpton Field.
