Coahoma County grand jury indicts 45 in December

There were 82 indictments against 45 defendants handed out by members of Coahoma County grand jury that met Dec. 4-6 at the Coahoma County Courthouse in Clarksdale.

There were 23 cases in which the grand jury issued a no true bill which means the grand jury didn’t find enough evidence to charge the defendant with violating a law.

Eastgate Gardens murder suspect makes initial court appearance

A man charged in a Clarksdale murder in mid-November made his initial court appearance on Tuesday, Dec. 18.

Nikolus TaShawn White, 19, had his request for bond denied by Clarksdale Municipal Court Judge Derek Hopson and White remains lodged in the Coahoma County Jail.
