On Saturday, August 23, 2025, the Coahoma County Sheriff's Office received a call to respond to Bruister Road about a subject who had been shot. Upon deputies' arrival, they were flagged down by bystanders who stated the victim was in a field near Prairie Place Road and Gibbons Road.
