The Tunica county Sheriff's Department has issued an active shooter alert until they find a suspect in a domestic disturbance who left the scene saying he was going to shoot others.
The alert was issued at 9:55 a.m. Wednesday for Tyrone Scott, 52, of Tunica County.
Scott was last seen traveling in a 2009 black, Chevrolet Tahoe bearing Tunica County Tag (MS TNA 6986) with a large masonic symbol on the back glass. Scott is described at a black male with with light skin, slight mustache and medium build.
"Tyrone Scott was involved in a domestic disturbance on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, in which he cut his girlfriend with a knife on the hand and left the scene," the Tunica County Sheriff's Department said in a press release. "Scott contacted the V.A. Crisis Line and called TCSO on 911 and made threats that he is going to commit an active shooting somewhere.
Authorities said Scott is a military veteran.
"If you see this vehicle, please contact Tunica County Sheriff's Office (662-363-1411) or dial 911 at your specific location," the press release said."Tyrone

" Do not approach this vehicle if you're non-Law Enforcement," the press release added. "We ask the public to take EXTREME CAUTION!
The department has forwarded this alert to all area law enforcement, MS Highway Patrol, the news media and the public.
This situation may prompt safety check points in the area and the public is asked to remain viligant and follow the direction of law enforcement at those locations.
